Design Challenge- Run Down Building Needs Major Help!
This interior was a complete disaster inside. Years of neglect by various tenants left this place highly undesirable. We had a vision for how the space would transform and lend itself to the up and coming North Park Community.
The entire space was gutted and we exposed the structural beauty of this early 1900’s building. One challenge you may face in old structures is asbestos- so we had testing done and had all the asbestos professionally removed which is a state law. What we came up with was an art gallery downstairs and design offices on the mezzanine above.
The downstairs would have highly polished and stained concrete floors, architectural lighting elements throughout to give the gallery the flexibility and proper light for any art installation. Upstairs had all the hardwood floors refinished. We built custom desks and furniture including a well-used conference table. The interior was complete. The space now echoed the original character and charm of a century ago with touches of modern upgrades.
